American Airlines is now flying direct from Miami to Samaná, the country’s northeastern beach destination. Samaná is a combination of tropical forests and low hills as a backdrop to beaches. Diverse and comfortable lodging and good gastronomy are readily available.
American Airlines had tested a Samana to Charlotte flight but has since replaced it with the Miami-Samana flight to catch more travelers interested in the relatively new-to-market destination for US travelers. The flight conveniently leaves at 10:30am from Miami to give time for connecting flights to arrive from around the United States.
The fight from Miami (MIA) to Samana (AZS) takes less than 2:30 minutes. The flights are on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The flight is AA4222 departing Miami at 10:30am and arriving 12:58pm in Samana. Expedia is showing the flight priced at US$536 round trip.
The flights are being operated seasonally by Envoy on Embraer E175 aircraft.
“We are thrilled to continue growing Miami’s connectivity to the Caribbean with the launch of our fifth destination in the Dominican Republic,” said Juan Carlos Liscano, vice president of MIA Hub Operations at American Airlines. “As we continue with our recovery, demand for travel to the Caribbean has remained strong, resulting in additional growth with new destinations like Anguilla, Dominica, and now Samaná, a hidden gem in the Caribbean.”
