Baiguate Waterfall
The perfect waterfall and jade pool await at Salto de Baiguate, tucked below a deep canyon yet easily reached via a series of wooden steps that lead directly to the water. Residents and their families flock to this waterfall area for an easy, refreshing swim during the day. The waterfall itself cascades down 25 meters (82 feet), and its emerald-colored, fresh water pool goes from shallow to deep as you near the fall. The ride to this protected area, approximately 20 minutes from town, reveals delightful mountainside agricultural village scenery, passing fields of fragrant cilantro. If you’re feeling brave, you can also hop on a canyoning excursion that ends with rappelling down Salto de Baiguate.

The Leon Centre offers three permanent exhibitions and a temporary one which changes per season.
Jarabacoa Gulf Club
Jarabacoa Golf Club is located in the Central Region and offers its players 9 holes. It is surrounded by beautiful vegetation and a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. The field is also known as Quintas de Primavera and was inaugurated in 1984.
Parque La Confluencia
Head to this waterfront park, located a mere ten minutes from downtown Jarabacoa, where two of the area’s rivers merge and create mini pools amid the rocks.
Secret Waterfall
Spirit Mountain's Ecological Reserve and Organic Coffee Plantation is nestled high in the foot hills of the Cordillera Central Mountain Range. The Farm is located at at the far reaches of Angostura de Manabao, approximately 15 miles from Jarabacoa, 3 miles beyond Manabao. This is rugged land and unpaved roads, so if your not up for an adventure, you may not want to venture this far into the mountains of Hispaniola.
Pico Duarte
Pico Duarte is the highest peak in the Dominican Republic, and in all the Caribbean. At 3,098 m above sea level, it gives Hispaniola the 16th-highest maximum elevation of any island in the world.
The 27 Waterfalls Park (Damajagua)
Puerto Plata’s crown jewel attraction, the 27 Charcos of Damajagua waterfalls offer a day of hiking through thick forest, crossing footbridges and passing numerous flora before eventually reaching a rocky hilltop where you’ll begin making your way down by jumping or sliding down a series of waterfalls–helmets and safety gear on–as you slide down water-cushioned chutes or jump into deep turquoise pools. Most excursions take you only through seven falls, as reaching the 27th is reserved for the most active and physically fit adventurers. Run by local guides who live within the community, the park entrance fees benefit all of its residents, making it a win for all. The park is located approximately an hour from Puerto Plata city. Make it through the 27 Charcos de Damajagua and you can face any other adventure in the DR!
This is a two hour drive from Jarabacoa. It is recommended to get there early as most of the buses arrive there by 11:00 a.m. You will need to hike at a moderate pace for at least forty five minutes to reach some of the waterfalls.
Salto de Jimenoa
A mere 20-minute drive from Jarabacoa town leads to this protected area and waterfall–also known as Salto de Jimenoa Dos. Set around a hydroelectric dam, walking the three suspended footbridges around this powerful waterfall and its pools can take a couple of hours because you will spend quite some time marveling at the mountain scenery and the beauty of the Jimenoa river. You can swim in the lower portions of the river along its shallow banks, but not by the main waterfall area’s pools–the cascade tumbles 40 meters (131 feet) down–because of the depths and currents. A second, smaller waterfall known as Salto de Jimenoa Uno sits off the main highway towards Constanza, tucked inside a ravine, and requires a steep hike downhill to reach its magnificent 75 meter (246 feet) cascade and pool for a swim.
As of 3/17/2022 it is closed to the public due to remodeling of the bridges.
